Hi there
i would like to know if anyone knows if the current version of octane for maya supports particle primitive rendering ?
i know you can use the particle instancer to render particles, however it read somewhere that the octane primitives was much more efficient to render.

also as an side note. does anyone have any manual or tutorials for rendering fluids with octane ?
i can make decent smoke but have no idea how to tweak the fluid to make explosions.

thanks :)

As far as I know, Octane sphere primitive is still not supported in the plugin,
I agree this would be nice to have for Maya particles, and especially for Bifrost foam particles.

How can particle instancer be rendered in Octane?
I have a dynamic system with several objects instanced with nParticles but cannot see any instance in the render.
Any idea?
Thanks

Hi mrfactory,

would you mind upload or PM us a sample scene or an image? Maybe relaunch the IPR or render and see if it renders the instanced object  !!!

Sure !! We are hoping to support the Bifrost in the new refactored version. Fingers crossed.. ;)
Kind Regards

I have this partcle system, I used particle instancer to substitute particles for several objects.
Is there any way to render this in Octane?

I tested with a simple scene with particle instancer and works fine.
I had to look into it more deeeply.

Would be great to have the same ability as the Houdini plugin to instance a sphere onto particles with one click. :)
