Serious errors when using Octane C4D

I know but it was more just to give a small appreciation of when it happened. That is in total random.

Anyway here is from today. Was sitting working in C4D/Octane for an hour or so, nothing fancy just shading and lighting. Rendered out the image and about 2 minutes after while just sitting in After Effects it crashed again, screen freezes and I get all these glitch-artifacts. When I reboot my computer it's total chaos, as seen in images attached further down. So double reboot makes it go back to normal again.

Back again here as the problems still occur. Feels like I've been trying everything now but just trying to get this fixed as it just makes my computer totally useless.

Some new problems are starting now, i get total freezes instead after the live viewer says "Render failure detected" The live viewer freezes up and a few seconds later the whole computer freezes. Tried to get as much info here as possible. Is there anything you might need to show if there is something else weird happening with the computer let me know and I'll try provide it.

What's max temperature on gpus? It may be related with this.

I never really seen them go above 83-84 but usually when rendering they are around 80.

I'm actually not a PC builder so I had a company set it all up for me, just ordered the parts. Although it's not always that it freezes when they are at full capacity, sometimes it's a minute after the render is done. But I can snap a shot of the setup later today and you might be able to tell if they get too heated bc of position

As said I did not build this rig myself. Think maybe there is a chance I can put the lower card one more step down but not sure if it will make any difference? Anyhow here is some images of the build

Hi lideborg,

This may be a silly idea but I had a long time ago an unstable computer problem like this. It ended with a grilled PSU because I did not find the answer soon enough. In my case, it was a problem of defective lightning protection. I wonder if the instability of your computer corresponds with a change in its connection to the electrical network? Another power strip, another plug, a change of desk, ... As I had also brought my computer to a repairman who had told me that everything was fine, I wonder if this is not a track to explore in your case.

I hope this info will help you. I know how confusing it can be.

Tried bringing it around the office trying all these different outlets, but had the same problem.

Actually do you guys think it might be overheating? Is 83-84 degrees way too much? Should I maybe look into getting watercooling for my rig?

Decrease your frequency for testing them. Also try to disable some gpus for testing.

Sorry for not understanding but how do i decrease the frequency? Also I've tried disabling one or the other but this still happening. I'll try it again though!

From some software nvidia or msi backburner etc.. Octane can't do anything if your gpus fails while compute.
