I tried with Blender v2.49b 32 bits version, and it works fine.

The 64 bits version crashes every time I move the mouse wheel !

I used the 64 bits version on very big models since I installed Win 7 x64 some weeks ago, without any problem. It is most probable that it is due to Octane, as I haven't modified or installed anything else, except adding the router and the antivirus as this workstation was fully insulated.

I used Blender all the week editing detailed models without problem after adding the router and the antivirus, and the behaviour is exactly the same has when crashing Octane : White half transparent screen and freeze.

I don't want to come back to Blender 32 bits version ! I upgraded my machine with Win 7 and 8 GB of RAM for Octane !

I have downloaded again the Blender.exe file from Blender.org, used this new copy instead of the previous one, and rebooted the computer : same result ! It doesn't come from a Blender corrupted file.

@face : I don't think It is related to the exporter, because the OCS had been made with 2.2 and the file loaded correctly and I haven't yet used the exporter to load obj in Octane live.

SamPage wrote:Hmm, I am getting some funny tearing when using two cards (attached). It is fine when using just one. It doesn't seem to be all scenes, as the Octane Benchmark is fine (69599 Triangle), but a 1,718,967 tri 346.8MB is not

I am also getting an error when I try and get Device information (attached).

If I set custom viewport control mappings to use RMB, it seems RMB only works with shift, no other combo with RMB seems to work. If I set Camera Zoom = RMB + Ctrl, this does not work, but middle mouse wheel still zooms.

Same thing here, but tearing on the whole image as i have 1 GPU, i randomly get tearing when setting image width between 800 and 1000, in some other lower image sizes the sunlight is also automatically turned off, and in other resolutions the image quality is like using a 2x2 subsampling. strange stuff, but most of the new features work fine, keep up the good work refractive team! It will all get fixed sooner or later :)

Another weird thing I am seeing with 2 gpu's is a line horizontally in the image the middle of the image.
Sometimes it is there and sometimes it isn't. Rotating it will make it go away and show up in the image again.

Yes ,we're aware of both the "scrambling" effect. and the middle line in multiGPU. To get in safer place, try using the power of two resolutions.

Well, after 3 reboots I finally go Blender working... but no idea about the problem. I'm sure it will come back.

I did some tests : I built a projector with a spherical bulb (diffuse emitter), an half spherical reflector (Specular), and a front glass slightly spherical (Specular).

I also made a simple bulb and a bulb with reflector, but without protective glass.

- The reflector only casts shadows and limits the field of the projector : it doesn't reflect light.

- The front glass doesn't allow the light to pass through it.

So, it is not yet possible to make beams of light casted by cars front lights for example.

I tried with both direct lightting and pathtracing.

I hope that MLT will bring some Magic Light Tricks, and will allow light to reflect in mirrors and pass through glass ! ;)

If you try to load a material from the Live DB and cancel while it's loading a texture, an error message will keep bouncing in loops until you kill the program. When you load Octane again, preferences regarding projects and textures paths are back to default...

My bad: Octane isn't saving those paths no matte what ( OBJ path is working though ).
