hi

i'm playing around with the proxy feature in sketchup.

for this i have imported a .obj file into octane standalone, and then saved the project as a package *.orbx file.
this file i have then linked into sketchup, it works well except from the model is way to big :-/

is there a way to scale the obj file in the standalone or direct in the obj file?

thanks

hi there ;)

Yes it is, Jorgensen. Create placement node, plug geometry node into it & adjust S.x/y/z parameters.
Drop a line if You need more help on this =)

Hi Jorgensen,
to use a Placement node to correct the scale is surely an option, but it is better if you correct the scale in the obj preferences window:

or by changing the setting in Preferences/Import/OBJ:

Octane works in meter, so it has to be informed about the scale of your geometry.
Another solution is to export your proxy as .ocs or .orbx directly from Sketchup with the command Extensions/Octane/Export to .ocs-.orbx:

In this way the geometry will be already exported with the correct scale, ready to be used as Proxy in OctaneSU.

ah thanks beppe. works fine.

i would like to make all proxies via sketchup, but sketchup sometimes gives up on complex objects or simply messes them up.

does anyone know if there is there an alternative program to sketchup to edit .obj files?
