Hello,
In Cinema, under the render settings / Octane renderer / Network Render / Network Preferences, I activated the "Enable Network rendering" button.
Under the Network preferences, I ticked the Enable network rendering, I enabled all my computers in the computer list. All slaves are running and ready to go. All looks ready. Perfect. I bind them all. Then I close the window.
My problem :
When I start a render, in the live viewer window, I push the button "Send your scene and Restart new render" and there is no slaves in the Live viewer despite the fact that I just set up everything.
So, I Pause the render, go back to the Network preferences to discover that my computer list is empty, it's pure black so I wait few sec and my slaves appear again, after authenticating and running status (again), I close (again).
Then I push the pause button again to release the render and great, FINALLY my slaves are running in the live viewer.
Is it normal behavior?
Does the slaves are released every time I push the button "Send your scene and Restart new render"? if so, any work around? Looks funky to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi mrpinoux,
we have got some reports about this weird behavior in the past, but we were not able to reproduce it
What is the operating system and c4dOctane/Standone versions of Master and Slaves?

Hi Bepeg4d,
thank you for your reply.

Hi,
I was almost sure that you were on Win 10, do you have any special notes about your network connection between the machines?

Here is a little video to walk you trough. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqUHA4o_JGk
Feel free to ask me specific question if you see something.
FYI, I run window Firewall control on the main computer (not on the slaves) with a medium filtering. I tried with this settings and with no filtering (firewall down) as well and I get the same results.

Hi and thanks for the video.
Do you mind to try again with the "Minimize net traffic" option unticked in the kernel settings?

Hi Good Sir,
I tried as you can see here : https://youtu.be/oJ3Fs71Vg9I
Unfortunately, same result, same behavior.
I'm running out of options here..
Thanks again.

Hi and thank for making another test.
What is weird is the long delay before you see the slaves listed, in my experience it is always immediate... I'm quite sure that the issue is the network setup, otherwise we should have been able to reproduce the issue in some way.
What happen if you connect the Master with one Slave directly with an Ethernet cable?

Hi bepeg4d
Im not quite sure how to do that.
I did plugged the Master with one Slave directly with an Ethernet cable but nothing showed up. Is there anything else that I should do?

Hi mrpinoux,
actually is not so easy, firstly you should have to set all your licenses in off-line mode, then connect both PC and change the IP address manually on both.
Then you should be able to start the net rendering.
