Again - thanks for your help.
OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.04.3
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue in this version with specular materials and the daylight system.
I've made this simple scene to show you the problem : modeled in Sketchup then exported to standalone through the current plugin. The top image was rendered in v3.04, and that is what I wanted to achieve (a lot of noise but that's just 500s/px). The bottom one is the exact same scene (same materials, daylight system, PMC settings 500s/px, etc) rendered with the current 3.04.3 version. It seems like the light from the sun cannot go through the water material.
Chances are you guys are already aware of this, but I researched the forum and couldn't find anything so I thought I should let you know.
Cheers!

I've reported very similar issue in this thread, see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=57153&start=10#p294022enricocerica wrote: ...
This behavior doesn't seem to work anymore, now I have first to select the "new" option in the menu to completely empty the work space and than load my project.
So, finally, the Octane doesn't reload meshes from ocs files when you open another (or the same) scene (.ocs) file.

Hey there,
i have also trouble with transparent surfaces. I attached two images the first one is lit by the Daylight Environment light --> seems correct to me. If i turn of the Daylight Environment light and use two Emitting Objects or a HDR Sphere. My Beerfoam behind the glass becomes very dark. All other settings are the same. Also I used Fake shadows on all the transparent materials (also tried to switch them off). Used PMC and Pathtracing. Raised and lowered the Diffuse and Specular depth and played with the Ray Epsilon value --> No success. Am I'M doing something wrong or is this a bug?
Thanks in advance
Edit: It also works correctly when using a HDR and importance sampling

I think the problems shown in the beer foam and pool scenes are related to a bug introduced with the change to improve the rendering of bump mapped surfaces near the terminator. We will release an update today that will fix the issue and hopefully your issues, too.
