Region render is not working. I can manipulate the region but it has no effect, it renders the whole image anyway.

I was talking about the octane VFB region render.
I Didn't have the effect you are having JimStar.
When I'm back at my desktop I'll take a look again.

Same here. I need to re-render a small area in a longer image sequence. Using the VFB region render seems to freeze the rendering process. Rendering gets stuck on the first image. This means I have to re-render the entire sequence in full, taking hours, instead of just a few minutes for the relevant pixels... Kind of sucks....

Also tried the crop region in the max vfb. Renders the sequence but completely black instead. I think this needs to be adressed in order to consider Octane in Max as a worthy production tool for animation since we are limited to using Max' internal vfb for sequential renderings. In many production cases small adjustments need to be made along the way and we need to be able to render just those instead of the whole image area.

Hi Helden,
you could use the region command instead of crop.
select it in place of the crop command, and you can manage it directly into viewport or into the render window frame.
