Hello all,

I'm wondering if any of you can provide an answer for me regarding this issue I am running into.

I can provide console information and logs if needed. If they are, I will provide them when I am able later tonight.

So, the issue I am running into is exporting an Animated orbx file from Cinema 4D. When in the live viewer, on frame 1, I go to file and export using the Animated option. Everything exports just fine, except for the clouds I am using. I am using a vdb file generated in Houdini. The clouds are simply just not showing. However, when I use a regular .ocs file, everything is there, but then I can't render out the animation.

Do I just need to find the node that stores the vdb file and reimport it into Octane Stand alone, after exporting it from C4D? Or, is there a different reason?

Any help and explanation on this would be fantastic.

Thank you!

i don't know what's your version! But plugin needs more work and revisions to be %100 perfect for export. Volumes will not be exported fine until getting a new update.

Ah, sorry for not stating the versions. I'm having a hard time finding the Signature options in the account settings for the forums, otherwise, I would just put it there.

I'm using the latest 3.0 release for both Octane Stand Alone and the Plugin. So that's 3.04 for Standalone and 3.03.3 - R1 for Cinema 4D.

Hi artech7,
the latest plugin version is 3.04-R1, just like the Standalone.
You can always find the latest version in the first post of the first discussion of this forum section:

I have the latest standalone and plugin versions available on the forum. Using C4D R17. I updated my signature to reflect that.

In any case, I'll try exporting it again later today. Turns out, that I couldn't get anything to work inside of C4D until after I had tagged the Octane Volume with an Octane Object Tag. So maybe I have to that when I export it as an animated orbx file.

I understand that I shouldn't have to do that, but that is the only way that I managed to get it to work.

Simply don't export scenes when you have volume objects. It will not work and i need to revise some parts of plugin to make it's working.

Yeah, no biggie. I just wasn't sure if that was a normal thing or not or if you guys were already aware that it wasn't working. I just figured I would post about it, just in case.
