Unexpected response format:
I'm starting to get this error on some scenes that used to be ok now I get this message and a short while later the rendering fails usually but not always.
I'm not getting this in the LW version on octane just in modo.
any ideas?

I think that is a Network Render warning, but I will check with Otoy to be sure. The plugins have different settings, so try setting the Modo plugin Network Render settings to be the same as what you have for the Lightwave plugin.

Hi Paul
Both settings for network are the same in the lw plugin and the modo plugin.
also I'm not network rendering, just the default install.
I'm also getting some gpu crashes now but it seems scenes that I get that message are more likely to have a gpu crash.
I will do some more testing to see if I can track down what is causing the error message.
As a test I uninstalled the plugin and went back to version 2, I then rendered the same scene and no error messages and so far no gpu crashes.
I have noticed that octane version 3 does not seem to be as stable as version 2 was.

Thanks. I have asked Otoy to take a look - as it's an error coming from the Octane API, not the plugin.

@lightboy

This is not network related but we need to gather a bit more information to make sure what's going on so I have just sent you a PM with instructions to further investigate this issue.
