This opens a whole lot of new for hair materials as well as compatibility with Ornatrix ( see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=54535&p=289002&hil ... ix#p289002).

Take into account plugin devs are currently working on providing native host application support so depending on each case it may take a bit for this to be adopted.

Will the gradient along hair be defined with UVset 2 or will it be procedural ?

Same as there's a UV coordinate per hair stride, now there will also be a W coordinate per hair segment that plugins can specify depending on the host app.

The mapping will be applied specifying a special type of texture mapping that can be used both in gradients and mix textures.

Once it's released we'll update the docs with all details.
