Bump not working with displacement even in mix material?

I'm running r17 and 3.00-r1.1 and it seems bump mapping just flat out doesn't work with displacement, even with the work around of use displacement in the mix material. I've attached a scene file.

Hi renderingz,
you forget to connect the material in both the materials pins of th Mix material: anyway it cannot work well since the bump has a diiferent uv transformation.
My suggestion is to bake the bump and add it to displacement in PS or Bodypaint for best results.

Ok that's really really inefficient, so every time I want to change procedural bump I have to rebake it??? - is this an issue that's going to be resolved? I swear this worked in V2?
Edit - removing UV transformation on bump map made no difference to artifacting...

Hi renderingz,
unfortunately displacement has not changed from v2 to v3 (excepted for the Shift/Mid-level value) and we are aware that there are a lot of limitations right now.
The displacement should be revisited later on, after 3.1 is out.
Thanks for your patience.

Sorry but these are not up to plugins. You can see similar topics in standalone section. Also you can make critisms to get more well-directed answers. We don't have nothing to do as plugin devs else of waiting.renderingz wrote:Not being funny but when's that even coming out....? No displacement and bump until summer 2017?

Didn't say it was anything to do with you, and again it's down to awful communication from Otoy. This is a very very basic feature, with no promise of being added until some time after 3.1 is released( which we have no idea when it is even planned for release), currently ORC is nearly four months later supposedly after only needing a few weeks of extra testing, so you can imagine customers frustration, and lack of patience when it comes to stuff like this.aoktar wrote:Sorry but these are not up to plugins. You might find this hard to believe but I sympathise with you Aoktar, your workload is ridiculous between forum and development, it's obvious they should hire more people work with you on the plugin.

Hi renderingz,
it depends from the SDK development and not by plugin development, so is difficult to have an approximated date, sorry.
