Hi,
Those are renders that I am trying to achieve photo realism output of. As you see I did not succeed in this :(

What do you think is needed (objects, render setting, material, lighting...etc) to achieve a realistic output ?
Your feedback is VERY MUCH needed

Most popular thing to get close to realism is to plag in more detailed photorealistic textures. More details from real life with random dirt, holes etc.

So you think the texture is the only problem here?

you need to supersample, to get rid of the aliasing: http://www.refractivesoftware.com/forum ... f=21&t=878

then, try not to use repetitive textures, but seamless ones, or make a procedural for the sidewalks and asphalt etc...
make larger images, and use a better camera response curve, and adjust your tonemapper to give more contrast and a bit less saturation.

If u will make textures or some complex materials on lights, asfalt, borders, make normal bump on tree, garbage columns, and more accurate bushes i think it will be closer. main light is really ok. And get off tiling.

By tonemapper you mean gamma? Also problem when i try to increase the contrast by modifying exposure, fstop and iso I cause all the bright surfaces to get over lighted (burned), not to mention that I completely loose the sky color.
I am trying to find some articles about exposure, fstop and ISO on physical cameras/films, any recommendation?

I am having a problem with bumps, it doesnt show up right, I read something on the forum about the object scale and bump, however, my objects are scaled to meter, so it should not give me problems, no?

Hmmm...What is the use of Clay Render mode? Can it be used to adjust lighting and tonemapping?
