@JimStar
OSX users need a simple answer. When do we get fixed OctaneServer? In a case you can't find a working osx machine you can rent one in a cloud:

OctaneServer 9.11 crashes every 5-10 minutes

I'm sorry guys, but it's not me who decides when to buy the expensive assets. I've made a request and got a promise to supply it, that's it.
No I can't. The NDA stuff (which the plugin's source code and Octane SDK is) can't be uploaded onto any non-Otoy external resource.J.C wrote:In a case you can't find a working osx machine you can rent one in a cloud
Thanks for the reply but this is funny
You somehow produce a software but don't have a hardware to release it. Have you smashed your OSX machines?

Thanks a lot! I hadn't seen this post. I was about to go back to v9.11.JimStar wrote:If you still have some issues with LiveDB - just re-download the 9.12 version and reinstall it. For Windows it is enough to just re-download the OctaneServer installer.
Things working ok now.

No. It was just coincidence that the build environment used previously by Octane standalone had been OK for building Blender too (which needs a lot of special Blender Foundation's requirements and dependencies). So, I just used the machine that is used for standalone. But now the Octane core team has changed the build environment so significantly, that Blender can't be built on this machine anymore. This is totally broken for Blender now. And if I will "fix" it - I will totally break the build environment for standalone (and all its satellites - bench, SDK, etc).J.C wrote:Have you smashed your OSX machines?
So, this is why the separate machine is now needed for Blender - to have the special build-environment especially made for Blender, which has the guarantee that nobody will make it broken at any point of time making a full re-set of it for some other project...
JimStar. Thank you for an answer. I hope you will be supllied with a new Mac machine soon. You can always use a PC machiche with a virtual machine software where you can install OSX with
