Comes with two .obj exporters - you can switch between the two inside the Octane Exporter GUI.
  • "Lightwave HC OBJ Exporter" is Lightwave Layout internal obj writer only available in Lightwave HC (build 2013 or later)
  • "Octane OBJ Export" is written by me and windows only. For Lightwave 9 or later.
Please check the readme inside for more details and differences between the two.

!Please make sure you read both the offical manual on Plugin<->Octane workflow and the readme.txt inside this package before using this plugin.

I'm testing the plugin.
It seems that the object exporter is writing uv that are automatically healed seams? The obj files uv is showing this so in octane there are errors. I tried all modes in layout write uv normal but still getting errors with the seams.

This is blender obj export loaded in modeller. UV is ok.

The lightwave hc obj exporter has better uv but I don't know why but I can't get octane to read the uv info from the obj file unless I specify no to export point selection as groups, which messes the uv again. The hc version is fast though.

Ok will upload them and send you pm.

Here's also something I discovered with the lightwave object exporter. Multiple uv are combined and healed.

obj from the exporter has uvs combined and healed. the combined uv probably is not a problem but the seams get messy same as the triceratops.

Does the plugin support bone and mdd animation? My test doesn't animate using both. But translation, rotation of object and camera animation is ok.
For doing arvhiviz unweld all points in modeller so uv won't get healed when exported. Not really a fix but for testing its ok.

Changed how it writes UV, please try again.
Bone & mdd should work fine but I added a check box in the lw export settings tab - force obj write. I rendered an object being deformed by a bone and worked fine.

Ok did new test. UV issue is fixed. And mdd animations work if force obj animation is checked. A bit slow than no check but for mdd this is the only way.
Now I tried new lw scene, new octane scene and first time I have two layers in layout. Triceratops mdd animation and a ground plane. Exporting out from layout the two objects fuse together.
