as for "jumper" where 24pin wire should be. You probably use "paper clip" o nthe end of 24pin wire. Most of power supplies have the same layout on PSU side (needless to say on PC side, as it's sort of a stardand) for that wire as well, but to make sure, simply trace wires (Green & black) if Yours are colored & look where those end up in PS. You can use one 4pin end. Where to get it?
If You take CPU power wire (4+4) that should be unused if You have Akitio, You can cut one of 4 pin's. When You have that 4pin simply shorten two it's contacts (just try to make sure conector shape fits the sockets on the back of Your PSU..once You trace where those green + black wire goes). As for powering Akitio itself, buy barel plug (of cut one from Your power brick included with Akitio) & conect two of those yellow wires (+12V) - should go into center, while two black sould go to outer side of it (one wire might be enough though as well, however usign two is a bit more safe as You have less resistance).
You can also find schematics on google for 4+4, 6 or 6+2, molex, sata plugs if You want to make sure. One important thing is to look if Your PSU is capable to bring enough vatage. Single rail models are advised, but multirail would work as well if it's enough power on given rail. As far as I remember Akitio migh end up drawing more than 100W (but I hardly understand how, unless a lot of power is taken by device, like GPU itself).
I would add some photos later of those things (jumper & cable for Akitio) to explain a bit better, but overall it's very simple mod that would save You some space as You go. No need of messy 24pin wire, no need of additional Akitio power brick & it works flawless so far =) I'm not the first, nor the last doing this, so I see little to none risk doing that, but it's always good to be cautious =)
