I made a test. and it doesn't work for me ... or I'm doing something wrong...
sampling rate is 1.
test1 - emitter visible - opacity 1
test2 - invisible emitter by Camera visibility unchecked - light on but emitter visible in reflection of glass!
test3 - invisible emitter and no light - camera visibility unchecked or checked , and opacity to 0

I can't spot any obvious mistake on your side. Could you send us the scenes please?ssokol wrote:I made a test. and it doesn't work for me ... or I'm doing something wrong...

I had a look at your scene and the light is too dark and the sampling rate too low causing the emitter being. And filtering out those rare samples with the hotpixel filter doesn't help either...ssokol wrote:I made a test. and it doesn't work for me ... or I'm doing something wrong...

To make it work in your scene (with a black environment): Set the power of the emitter to 5 and enable "surface brightness" (i.e. the total emitted power will be scaled with surface area) and bump up the sampling rate to something like 100 or so, since this emitter will be contributing most of light on the streets. Also don't forget bump up the exposure to 5 or 10 (since it's usually pretty dark at night

I could reproduce and fix the issue. It's the combination of PMC with info channels.ssokol wrote:I'm working on windows 10, GTX titan X, 2x 970. latest CUDA drivers....
Octane application craches.

We've just updated the extension download link at the beginning of this thread with a new version fixing this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.gah5118 wrote:the photoshop plugin is working, however, for AO layer and others like it, it comes in as red. so I have to add 2 adjustment layers, black and white to make it greyscale as well as an adjustment curve so everything isn't grey. Otherwise, its much more usable.
Thanks abstrax, I will check.abstrax wrote:I had a look at your scene and the light is too dark and the sampling rate too low causing the emitter being. Scene was dark, because it is just beggining and for purpose of tests.
