I'm using the cinema 4d plugin in r17 and I've tried to follow some tutorials on using octane. But I'm noticing two things that I can't seem to figure out.

1. There seems to be a default light. Although I've disabled the c4d autolight, I can't find an option for that in octane. Is that how it's supposed to be? I would expect that if there was an auto light that as soon as I add a light, it would turn off... which isn't happening.

2. I've added a light to the scene and also set up an emissive material but neither light nor the emissive texture appear to be providing any illumination.

Here's a link to the scene - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/646 ... e-test.c4d Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

I think better to fix this title to avoid wrong understandings for others. Maybe as "cannot got it how works" or so.
Btw, i advice to watch a few video tutorials before answer your questions. Anyway you should create texture environment to give dark environment. And increase power in your emission textures.

Thank you. I didn't even realize these existed. They're very helpful.

There are some small changes about parameters which shown in videos. This has been caused by some recent fixes/updates on plugin. But they are mostly actual. And please let me know if you need more help. Enjoy it!
