when using the stand alone, it is rendering at over 300ms, when in maya ipr it is moving at less than 100ms
I have 3 780ti's and checked their utilization. They are all being utilized but not to their full amount.
is there a solution to this?
Thanks in advance!
only using a 3rd the power

yes, i enabled all, then swapped them out while monitoring the 3 cards. however, in standalone, i only enable 2 (which i enabled in maya) and leave the one with the displays connected off so movement in software is smooth.
------update
when trying to simply render, its even slower than ipr. its moving at 30-60 ms (render time corresponding).

what I mean by comparing render times is the total time to render for example 500 sample for 1 image in maya IPR and the same in Standalone, instead of comparing Ms/s.
But anyway you seems to have a bigger issues in Maya.
I don't have the same problem in maya, but I read that last NVIDIA drivers may have some problems, maybe this is relative.
It could help Kai, the plugin developer, to reproduce the problem if you tell which version of the maya plugin you are comparing to which version of standalone and which driver you use, and also maybe if you share the Maya scene and the one in Standalone you are comparing.

I had some (different) problems with the plugin with Maya 2014.
Can you install 2015 or 2016 to check?

I tried it with 2016 and it's the same issue. it takes 7 min in maya. in standalone, 1 minute.
major difference.
also, when rendering with alpha channel, it doesn't look clean around the edges of the object.

Don't know for the low GPU power but for the alpha channel it could just be a straight alpha, I think Maya default to straight, if you want premul alpha make sure "premultiplied aplha" is enable in the camera setting.
Is the slow rendering happening for every scene or just with particular scene ?
