Apple diagnostics have been run and all is good.
I turned off and deleted every startup app
After that the main Octane app runs again.
The plugin still hangs CInema starting during plugin initialization
Replacing the actual plugin with the demo works right away
I am even able to register the demo plugin and hoped that would be the end of it,
but it still overlays the Octane symbol and wavy lines.
Replacing the demo plug files with the actuals immediately forces CInema to hang
at plugin initialization.

Anyone have any ideas ? Please? Is there a way to turn off the overlay in the demo so I can get some work done?
Thankyou

Please downgrade your nvidia drivers for a compatible one. Later can you put this file to C4D folder before running. And send me the generated file which is named "octane_log.txt". Let's see what's happening.

Also do you keep several versions of plugin under c4doctane directory? That causes to load wrong versions.

THe internet connection led me to the answer.
It was that I was running Avast virus detection, deleted it and I have a working plugin.
Thank you for all your help
