Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of faceting without upping polygon counts? I was sent a model by a client, and the model is already 8 million polygons, so subdivision surface crashes C4D. And polygon reduction no matter the percentage makes the model not look like the model anymore. I would attach the project file, but it's over 100mb zip files, so I attached a screen shot.

Well I added a phong tag and that seemed to smooth things out. Leaving this for anyone else who might run into this issue.

Yes, correct, Octane needs always a Phong tag in order to work properly, and be aware that it is quite sensitive to this value. I suggest you to experiment with different values in order to understand how it affects on geometry ;)

Wish I would have known about this a couple projects ago. I had another faceting problem, and kept going subdivision surface until it was gone. I'm sure that cost me render time. Oh well, live and you learn...
