Ok so thanks to google I've managed to get the script running. But now it says "Please install eGPU one at time. Does this mean I have to only have one card in the PCIe slots in order for the script to work?

After stripping down to just one card, the script runs. And boy is it so MUCH simpler than doing it manually!

Thanks so much for this!

I booted a MacBook Air into Recovery mode and did csrutil disable and restarted to run the script. So now I have eGPU running happily over thunderbolt on a MacBook Air running El Cap 10.11.2

Mine are identical cards.

Peter, yes it works with two cards installed. I have two gtx 780. No issues on the MBA on OS X 10.11.2

The script doesn't work on my 2012 MBP with a gtx 650m on OS X 10.10.5 it may be a conflict between Nvidia drivers and the latest Yosemite Security update. I had to uninstall the scripts and went back to the manual method.

Hey everyone.

This is my first attempt at building an EGPU setup. The task has proven a bit more difficult than imagined. Currently, I am having a hard time getting my Corsair RM 1000 to power the Titan X. I understand that the Corsair fan won't turn on without stress, but I am unable to get the Titan X fan to spin as well, or show any indication of turning on.

My specs are:

Akittio Thunder 2
PCIE Powered Flexible Extender Cable
Corsair RM 1000
Titan X
MBP 2014

Thanks!

try adjusting the fanspeed manually with a program like msi afterburner or evga precision
when i connected a gtx960 through e.c. i also noticed 0 fanspeeds, thinking it wasnt working, but win7 recognised it. Then when rendering I just turned the fans on and it worked flawlessly

Wouldn't that require running/installing bootcamp? I am attempting to follow this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfKb8TcHDkI
I have purchased all of the same equipment, with the exception of a TitanX instead of Z. However, his video doesn't detail the process of physically setting everything up.

and Tom, the Corsair RM came with a 24 pin, as well as everything else. Currently I am running an 8 Pin that splits to two 6+2 Pins (attached into the Titan, with the additional 2pins hanging off to the side)
I noticed that when running that to the GPU, as well as attaching the 24 Pin and using the paperclip method on that, the PSU will click when flipped on. (So far thats the only indication of running power, as the Corsair's fan won't run without stress)

Thank you everyone for the replies, I appreciate it so much.

Alright, small update. I discovered that by powering on the akitio, the GPU card was able to power on. (I suspect by pulling through the Powered Riser) However, I understand that the Akitio itself doesn't supply ample enough power, thus the need for the Corsair RM PSU. I am wondering if I will need to create a Molex-barrel adapter, in order to transfer power from the PSU to the Riser, and in turn the GPU? I have attached a photograph for clarification.

Also, I've noticed that my Molex appears different, in that it doesn't provide a 4-pin converter. Is this the issue?
