Agree, the price is too high, especially considering that you made those using Photoscan, a software that I know very well. I'm not saying that the quality is not good, the quality is top-notch, but $200 is way overpriced.

Why don't you make some yourself and sell them cheaper then?Rikk The Gaijin wrote:Agree, the price is too high, especially considering that you made those using Photoscan, a software that I know very well. I'm happy with what I got for my $$$. It's not like anyone else has made a nice pack and sold it cheaper.

Comments from Rikk carry a bit of weight, from the examples he's made using an (arguably) similar workflow...
Hey RDG (Real Displacement Guy),
Any chance you would list the individual ones at 6.50euro each; you'll earn more per texture, but people could choose the ones that suit their work... (about 12 that suit me)
they look freaking awesome by the way

It's $136 in the US through Paypal.Rikk The Gaijin wrote:$200 is way overpriced.
Cheaper is always better, but it's a fair price IMO. Probably on the high side of fair, but still fair.
Maybe once a market competitor like Quixel's Megascans launches they will bring the price down. Looking forward to those launching in 2037.
Well, I imagine he certainly could based off his work I've seenObizzz wrote:Why don't you make some yourself and sell them cheaper then?Rikk The Gaijin wrote:Agree, the price is too high, especially considering that you made those using Photoscan, a software that I know very well. I would say the price is fair & You get what You pay. It's very tempting to get something & try thigns out, but it would be cool to have possibility to buy single items as well.. as I'm not too sure I would like to drop 150$ for all maps just to test out one or tw. So I do agree that You would get much more interest even if You would spread single material sets for let's say 10$ (still reasonable).prehabitat wrote:

I agree. 10usd for one sounds reasonable.

Anyway, that was just my opinion. If you guys are cool to pay that price good for you, I'm not saying you are dumb or anything like that. Again, the quality of those scans is top-notch, I never got anywhere near that quality, but I kinda feel that I could do it with more planning, that's all.
Ma bet is on Quixel Tools + Mega Scans as well.. - once v2 is out You might found package for very good deal & what I've seen from their beta tests so far.. I would have to say they come a long way to polish that tool! (& I love the fact it was built on Photoshop)Rikk The Gaijin wrote:fatrobotsneedlove wrote:Maybe once a market competitor like Quixel's Megascans launches they will bring the price down. And I didn't mean to put down your work in anyway. My point is that he's free to set the price he feels is right. (as are you to criticize it)Rikk The Gaijin wrote: Anyway, that was just my opinion. The Real Displacement Textures look fine for a start. Cheap or Expensive I think in the end it is depending on the quantities that someone sells.
As a customer I would like to have free collection updates within one year for that price. That would let me feel safer to invest. Because the collection is small.
I think this could be a good offer to customers especially when Quixel V2 is around the door.
