Motion Blur Settings Confusion
Moderator: juanjgon
It's late at night here but I finally loaded up your scene. I got no motion blur. I am slightly behind on the builds. It's 2.24.0.0 but I wouldn't have thought that would be a problem. I'm stumped...

Have now tried this on another Mac. Still not working. Will now try on a PC.

Okay, that's it. Works fine in Windows. It's a Mac thing. Hope you can find the Mac bug. Thanks...

Yes, you are right, there are some problems with the instancing motion blur in the OSX version, I think that related to a bug in the LightWave SDK.
The good news are that I have found an easy workaround: it seems that if you set the "Motion Blur Time Slices" parameter to 2 in the instancer options panel all works fine. Can you please test this workaround in your scene?

Sounds great. Have an appointment. Will test in about two hours. Thanks so much!

Yes, that's great. That totally fixed it. Thanks again!

Further tests show that there are big problems with the instancing motion blur in the OSX version of LightWave, related to bugs in the Layout and in the SDK. These problems are also there even using the LightWave native engine!
I have added an option to the plugin to disable the motion blur in the Octane custom object plugin, so at least now you should be able to use cloning and disable the motion blur of the objects that you want without blur.
