I'm sure I'm just a noob, but I can for the life of me not get Octane to render particles.
Could some kind soul run me through a basic setup?
I apply an object tag to an emitter and enable "Particle Rendering" in the tag. Shouldn't that be enough?
Octane won't let me check "Enable Particle Engine" in the options menu, neither in r16 or r17, so I figured that's not the issue?

The performance of the new test version is great. Feels more responsive when navigating in live viewer. Hair also works like a charme. I do have the same problem with particle engine as previous posts though, can't get them to render and tick particle engine on in options won't work.

It's my neglect. This parameter should be deprecated. You can use particle engine part in Octane object tag. If some spheres don't appear assign some custom objects to object list in tag. Standard particle emitter can have some stability issues.

Here's a standard emitter and an old X-particles 2 emitter (haven't bought XP3 yet) both with an object tag and custom objects
Here's what I get:

It just renders out a big sphere in the middle. Interestingly enough, the mesh counter in the bottom of the live viewer counts accordingly to the emitter.

Ok...bummer.
And what about the standard emitter? Aoktar said it had some stability issues. Does that translate into it doesn't work at all or?
