I love the scatter object, I only have broadcast r15 and have longed for a hair module..this is not it but creative use of this fills a gap. Pardon the pun.![]()

Thank you for fixing the layout bug: Now it's working for me and I can play with those awsome new features. Scatter is incredible!
I was thinking about buying Carbon Scatter but now I won't.
Thanks for your really outstanding work!
Ron
I would like to see what are you doing with scatter. It helps to improve more. As a note, scatter objects is not optimised for viewport or render time and works mostly on one core.
Thanks

Hi Ahmet- just wanted to say that I really liked the small touches you put in this release- specifically, when the LV window is resized and the image eases in to the new size. It gives it a really professional, almost Apple-like feel. Keep killing it man.

Ahmet,
Firstly you have and continue to do an amazing job, keep up the good work!!
I do mainly arch viz renders and import the models from Archicad, problem is that i cannot control how the meshes are generated on the import process and i end up with meshes with varing sized polygons as per the attached file, this has not been too much of an issue until i want to cover the mesh with a grass object. I have tried various methods (Cloner,Carbon Scatter, Multicloner) but they all seem to use the polygon (centre/face/surface) to calculate the position.
I have just tried your scatter object and have run into the same problem, is there some way to distribute the objects in a more uniform manner without using the polygon data.
Regards Nuge

The scattering tool is just AMAZING!
Good job! My biggest fears is that Ahmet will leave OTOY for someone else. You are doing an amazing job.
EDIT: A little test image attached.

Thanks for words! About your issue, Scatter is actually capable to do what you want. But i suppose it's not working well on Test2 due lot of playing with codes. Here is a result for you.Nuge wrote:Ahmet,

If there is any way to implement any performance-filters like Camera culling, Backface culling etc - that would be awesome. Like SurfaceSpread.
Octane Scatter has good possibilities to beat SS. I already think Scatter is better.

Yes, it's on my list. I loved the your render test also. Btw, i'm adding direct support for Surface Spread and Laubwerk plants. I don't want to beat some other products. It's faster because it has direct access to generated data.martincarlson wrote:If there is any way to implement any performance-filters like Camera culling, Backface culling etc - that would be awesome. YES!!! That's the best thing for Octane: to play well with all possible native features and plugins.aoktar wrote:Btw, i'm adding direct support for Surface Spread and Laubwerk plants. I don't want to beat some other products. It's faster because it has direct access to generated data.
