Is there any way to get animated hair into Octane, either via the standard hair or via ICE strands (I think there's a free ICE hair system somewhere)?

I´m work current on strands ;)
But i have some problems.
Should i use instand shapes or a standard cylinder?
And the biggest problem is to know the position on the strand.
Strands are nurbs curves, the position between two points are also cubic interpolated...
At the moment, i can create a nurbs curve from a strand. I hope to find a way to get a location on the curve that gives me the position.
The easyest way would be to get a postion on a U-value. That means, i can specify a U-value and the result is a position.

Do you know the Save render mesh plugin? It allows you to save the render geometry of anything to an OBJ file.
Maybe including something similar would be easier than "rebuilding" the strands? But I really don't know anything about this stuff, so I'm sure you'll figure it out :)

Yes, i know it. It runs as a shader.
That would not so simple to implement ;)
I will use the nurbs-curve technique.
I rescale every point from a instance shape in a y-range from 0 to 1. With this i know where every point lie on the curve.

Then... Face.
Is possible or do you have plan a support as Attributes_Integer?
I would get variety to Instanced particles by textures like this(http://cgndev.com/xe/files/attach/image ... G-0066.jpg).
