Hi,

I´m pretty noob with node texturing. Now with Octane I have used node editor more but still there are lots of stuff I don´t know how to do.
For example, could someone tell me how to use Octane Dirt as an alpha map? Let´s say I have a white wall that needs to have some dirty texture in the tight corners. So a dirty texture should use Octane Dirt as an alpha. How to do this?

The dirt texture can be used for example with the material or texture mix nodes to render the effect you are looking for.

That was it. Also the Invert Normal in Octane Dirt is great.

Hey,

I have here a wall with plaster texture. I want to add a Dirt layer to the corners (green).
How can I blend the green Dirt to the plaster so the plaster can be seen under the green Dirt?

You can duplicate the wall material, sharing the bump or other textures, and changing in one of them the diffuse color. Finally you can use again the material mixer to mix the two materials using the dirt node as mask.

Another trick is to mix up the material that your going to use for the dirt so it's not so uniform in the blending. Meaning you don't have those smooth even lines in the Dirt texture alpha.

What I've done here is completed the two textures individually...one stucco...the other dirt. notice on the dirt texture I used a noise for the alpha to break it up.

Now we use the dirt to mix the two materials up...but on the dirt texture some of it is already transparent so the stucco stills comes through...making it more uneven of a mix.

This isn't the best example but you can see where I was going. BTW, love the grass!
