When I activate Render passes the first change of the viewport selection is ignored, which puts all following selections out of sync.
Example: I render an image in beauty pass display
Then i switch to e.g. Z-Depth - the displayed image stays in "Beauty" mode
When switching back to Beauty the display changes to Z-Depth.
I'm on version 2.23.2.55, but this might be an issue in newer versions, too.

I cannot replicate this problem. Could you try with the latest test version of the plugin pls?
Thanks

Yes - this version works better.
I seems, there is a certain delay switching the displays depending on the image size. The new version is definitely faster.
Thanks!

OK - have the issue again.
It seems it is depending on:
a) a high render resolution: 3840 x 2400 px
b) GPU performance set to "high" (only one GPU in the system)
with patience the display will change on the first toggle every now and then, but mostly it doesn't and then lags one step behind.

No luck.
It seems like the first change event from the select box is ignored or lost. (I waited up to 5min)
Render priority doesn't seem to play a role, though resolution does:
From the second switching it takes 2 sec (1600x1000), 5 sec (1920x1200) or 8 sec (3840 x 2400)

I could not reproduce this problem. Start Poser 11, on the default Andy scene start the Octane plugin, set the resolution to 1600x1000, enable wireframe and AO render passes, open the viewport, select the wireframe, then the AO pass and they both display correctly. It seems like the first change event from the select box is ignored or lost.
