Octane Render 1.022b beta2.2b released [OBSOLETE]
At Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and multi-GPU environments, resolution change is not working (same to 1022)..

A little issue...
For us plugin developers, specific for me while i wrote me own obj export, it ill be usefull, when the windows not stay in front.
I mean the compile mesh and the splash screen.
When the obj is invalid or corrupt so that Octane crash, i have nearly never the chance to react with the windows error message.
Mostly i must use the taskmanager to kill the process.
That can be a pain when i test some things

The silentmode would not help in that situation.radiance wrote:Hey,
we're aware of this and we're working on a truely 'silent' mode for 2.3

I don´t use the silentmode when i will render a frame to test something.
I think thats is a generell issue.
The splashscreen opens and Octane try to load a mesh.
If the mesh is corrupt and let Octane crash, the splashscreen and the "compile mesh" screen is still open and in front so that i have mostly no chance to see or to change to the windows message.
Octane is also freezed and hide the windows message...
Thats maybe while the windows message is between the splash and the compile screen.

yeah, but if we fix the compile mesh issue (could you get us a obj that demonstrates this?) and we remove the splashscreen for the silent mode, would'nt this be enough ?face wrote:The silentmode would not help in that situation.radiance wrote:Hey,

I have read in another thread that you plan to add light source feature maybe in Beta 2.3.
Can you say more about actual features in Beta 2.3 ?

Besides an MLT like algorithm and area lights, i'd like to keep the remaining features a suprise, just so our competitors don't start copying them before we've released them

I've got some really good ideas to finish for 2.3
