I can get the post effect glare to show up when I have an alpha going in the live view, but when I render a final to picture viewer, the glare streaks don't seem to make it. I use the copy to video post command, and everything else carries over, but that one effect. What am I missing?

The alpha mask is cutting the effect, but you can activate in the multipass tab the post-effect as separate layer, so you can compose it later on.

So I tried doing that but I'm guessing I'm missing a setting because what's going on in my image sequence files, doesn't seem to translate to what I want when I throw them into After Effects. Project file attached. Thanks in advance. I really do appreciate.

Sorry, I must have been more specific.
Not the c4d multipass but the octane multipass:

Well. I thought it worked great. But question. Do the post effects output not come with an alpha channel? I was wanting to overly this text over some footage with the light glare. Is there a way to get an alpha channel with the post light glare out of Octane?

I realize that I can take an alpha from luminance in After Effects, and now I've created a preset with the proper curves adjustments before and after the effect, but that's extra buttons that I have to press ;)

Also, before anyone tries to get cute like me and render out EXR files instead of PSD, EXR files don't seem to work. PSD does. I don't know about other file formats.

The blending mode for post effects render layer is add, your post effects should be on black.

Hello, I'm trying to use the post effect over a transparent background, but as there is no alpha channel into the post effect pass, I can't make it work properly in After Effects.

Is there a way to get the bloom&glare effect with transparent background so I can export that as a PNG with alpha?

Thanks

Post Effects are additive; there is no alpha created for the post effect pass. The best you could do would be to use the pass as a luma matte in AE, though I doubt it would look natural.
