Hi,
how can be defined the black point of the z-depth? Without this option a wide greyscale range is wasted.
(And why are in z-depth kernel mode options shown like AO distance, ... ?)
Ciao,
Micha

I'm sorry, I don't understand this question. In the Render Passes, there is a Z-Depth max value you can adjust. The min value is 0.how can be defined the black point of the z-depth? Without this option a wide greyscale range is wasted.
The InfoChannel kernel has both an AO Max distance pin and a Z-Depth Max pin. They control the distances used in the "Type" pin for Ambient Occlusion and Z-Depth respectively.(And why are in z-depth kernel mode options shown like AO distance, ... ?)

No z-depth min option here - see screenshots.
I think only needed options should be shown. It's confusing to see dozen of options that are not needed in current mode. At other software packages unusable options are hidden or greyed out. The Octane UI looks like made from engineers for engineers, who are testing a new great thing with hundred of knobs, and because it's quick build, there a lot of knobs without function in current mode. I think, for 3D artists the UI needs to be redone. I can live with the current UI, it's only a suggestion to make Octane more userfriendly.
(The automatic expanding option tree is confusing.)
