thanks a lot. Very usefull !

Ok so it seems almost everything works properly.. only thing, does the .ocs file have to be in the same directory as the .obj file.. I couldn't get it to work like that because I saved in different directories.. probably was only that..abstrax wrote:Already done. Just click on "Render"...

Anyway it seems to work nicely now, great stuff abstrax..
Another thing, I've been testing vray and converted all materials to vray ones and so it doesn't load the textures offcourse.. it does load different materials which is ok.. not a problem of any kind only you could just put it on a to do list - f it doesn't require too much work..
Tested the workflow.. I would say close to perfection

Yes, this is correct. It's how the automatic relinking works: It looks for an .ocs file with the same name and directory as the .obj file. If it's not there it creates a new one. This is what the guideline specified. There is the problem that after relinking and modifying the Octane scene, Octane "forgets" the full path of the .ocs file and you have to select the path again. This will be solved in the future. Maybe it's solved already in 2.2b - haven't tried it yet.acc24ex wrote:Ok so it seems almost everything works properly.. only thing, does the .ocs file have to be in the same directory as the .obj file.. I can try. The problem is, that I don't have VRAYforC4D and with that I don't know how those materials are structured and how they work. When I have some time I will check the demo and have a look at its resource files.Anyway it seems to work nicely now, great stuff abstrax..

Not at the moment. Maybe in the future, but I don't know and it's a lot of work. Well let's see...Tested the workflow.. I would say close to perfection, hey, how about this, can it be possible for octane to work natively inside c4d like vray does, the vray setup really is impressive, it is completely submerged into cinema.. they say they will implement vray RT in the future (maybe I buy it then), if it works inside c4d like it does now, it would kill any other renderer..

Marcus

Thanks a lot, Marcus.
I just have bought Octane and was a bit disappointed of my export-results when I tried to render them with Octane.
I will try your plugin immediately.
Thanks again.

Marcus, maybe I found a bug. (?)
I have two 8700M GT-Cards in my notebook.
When I choose the Plugin-render-button, it is not possible to use both cards for rendering.
If I choose 2 x GPU in the plugin-dialogue, Octane crashes when it starts.
1 x GPU works, but it is no more possible to add the second GPU.
Also if I reopen the saved file, it denies adding the second GPU.
Only if I export the scene from within the Plugin and then afterwards open it in Octane, it is then possible to use both GPU.
Edit:
But maybe that's more an octane-bug than a plugin-bug.
Adding the second GPU works only if I do it before I initiate the first render-process, after that I cannot add the second GPU as well as when directly rendering it with the plugin-render-button.
