Hi I have recently installed Octane for blender Mac, I'm finding it difficult just to do basic stuff like add a HDRI environment?
The online help seems a bit behind the latest version.

Also how to properly deactivate the plugin to use at home and work?

If someone could be kind enough to supply a bit of insight that would be wonderful:)

The HDRI environment settings are under the world tab (I think) and in the "Octane Environment" block. Set it to image and specify your HDRI file for it to use. You can control the HDRI's rotation there as well. And you can get better results if you have "importance sampling" enabled too.

To deactivate and reactivate the plugin (and standalone) you use your Otoy customer area login (not the one for the forums). The activate/deactivate buttons are next to your license keys. If I'm remembering correctly if you do it once a day it's fast. Any more than that and you will have to wait up to an hour before you can reactivate the license. I'm not sure as I have only ever done that once with my licenses. :)

Hi Grimm,
Thanks for your reply, I get how to activate and deactivate the license now:)

I sourced this youtube video from MTimtam if you look at 3:35 that is my problem. I can't actually load a HDRI map?
Is this still the case?

It was never the case actually. Well, maybe it was the case at the very first version of the plugin but i cant even remember that time...
All you need to do is on the attached image (and on the manual).

Hi Saramary,
Thank you, thank you. I was actually using the Shader Node Tree instead of the Texture Node Tree, that's where I was getting confused.

A big THANK YOU! too you all I know this stuff is basic but you really helped me tremendously :D

Hello,
I have the same problem. I'm using the plug in and when I try to follow the image, I get greyed out images when I try to follow the picture. Could you tell me what I'm doing wrong please?
