Well, Octane 3 will remove the geonetry limit, but then it will still depends on how much memory you will have. Anyway, more than 3 GB of geometry is a lot of geometry!ristoraven wrote:Wasn't that only for textures?

About five daz figures and it's about full.. so not that much with high poly objs..
So making a populated street with five daz figures & instancing them, then the whole street with buildings & all.. 12 gb from Titan X sounds intriguing, but if that is not necessary and I can use 24 GB of ram.. I'm good.

Five daz figures and 3GB are gone? I never used Daz, but that doesn't sound right...

Ah yes.. Just checked, the basic geometry without textures takes only 34 mb of vram memory.
Me so confused.
So what sucks the memory the most, is the render resolution, right? And this is where you need the GPU ram in 3.0 as well ?

Yes, resolution and textures.ristoraven wrote:Ah yes.. Just checked, the basic geometry without textures takes only 34 mb of vram memory.

wondering about supporting the same plugins that 3dsmax can support .
This service has game changing potential ... but is of limited use if we cannot get limited items like multi-scatter, multi-painter, anima etc. plugins to work
i know i can collapse the plugin but that causes the memory to max out of my 6gb limit .
do you guys agree or am i doing something wrong lol

This is awesome! This is pretty revolutionary. I know there are render farms out there trying to do similar things but with the orbx file it just works. I will be using this for sure. Can't wait for this to come into full swing. If the pricing is right, I just found my new pipeline. I sent up a personal scene 47 mb, and just rendered out 10 frames to test it out. Very cool, lots of potential for this. I changed the render output size to 1280 X 720.

Mine is hung on Processing
Pretty simple 10 mb file
Not a metaverse camera... would that cause it to hang??
