Hi everybody,
i'm glad to publish the version 2.23.1 RC3 which is based on Octane sdk 2.23.1.

This version has changes for some parameters which are unit aware. This can cause different results on material outputs. So please don't switch your version in middle of a project.


Changes for 2.23.1 RC4

- New parameter for geometry. Automatic mode will allow to make all objects as movable. Use this carefully for very high amount of objects. This parameter is for interactive mode. We need to use object tags for animation renderings.
- Smart optimisation for complex scenes. Better feedback and smart behaviour for editing the objects. This is for geometry->automatic option.

- Experimental support for BP3D painting
- Update from R16.038 to R16.050 (You'll probably need to update your C4D to 16.050)
- Fix for exposure changes after first frame while pass rendering. It was happened when camera imager is not activated on camera tag.

- Fix for incorrect behaviour of modes(normal/float/alpha) in imagetextures

- Color profile is correctly affecting now the C4D material colors, color shaders on C4D materials.
- Fix for material converter and c4d's standard material(srgb/linear color profiles).
- Fix for render instance updates and even for Xparticles generators when render instances are selected
- Unit support for some parameters like amount/offset on displacement, focal-depth, aperture, etc. no camera tag, rounded edges on materials.
- selection set support for images and movie file support on C4D bitmap
- Hsv/rgb mode for octane colorgui (uncompleted)
- Keep environment parameter is back
- Also having some fixes from SDK. They has been reported by some users.

Note about "new.c4d" or "default.c4d" usage. If you have this scene as startup which is done by old version. Please create new one with current version to avoid a warning window.

IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTES:
Due to the switch to CUDA 6.5 you will need a current graphics driver of version 344.x or higher. On Mac OSX you will need a CUDA driver of version 6.5 or higher (see http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html). The minimum supported version of Mac OS is 10.7.
Also matching version of Standalone 2.23.1 is highly recommended.
And remove all old plugin files before installing. Any version conflict or old drivers can cause crashes

I'll be happy, if anyone can be specific with bug reports.
I need to know that plugin version/Os/HW, bugreport zip. Last operations before crashes.

you are superfast once more. I was curious and installed the Mac Version, but it looks like this.
Also I got a crash.

Can you try different variations of this scene? Maybe some straight geometry without arrays.

When I'm opening old scenes - all values in materials etc is changed to centimeters in some cases. Not good when opening old scenes.

Is this going to be fixed? Either with a script or in a new release?

All old scenes are f*cked up right now.
