Hi,
I'm working on a virtual reality exhibition project and am very much interested in the holographic video that's announced on your website http://render.otoy.com/newsblog/?p=547.
I was wondering if you could provide a downloadable holo-video demo for the oculus rift for me ?

As far as i understood, it's possible to move the 3d-camera around in the corresponding video. The idea is to pre-render complex vr-scenery that can't be rendered real time and play it back and move the 3d-camera around in real time during playback.
Best regards,
Frank

We're working on this in several stages, one for PC VR and later mobile VR:

And then for true light field displays, which are being built as custom hardware solutions.

ok thx.
? Will there be a downloadable Oculus Rift demo anytime soon ?
I saw the Octane Render download, but was looking for a Holographic Video example for the oculus rift.
? Can i use the octane render to generate a scene by myself ?
I have Softimage and 3DSMax and Unity3D

ok cool. I wished one could see via Oculus Rift what is already being achieved in the Otoy development ... can't await to be able to pre-render VR instead of real-time rendering, so to engage Global Illumination and any depth of render quality, hopefully this is what it is to be.
Winter is coming...this April. We targeted March originally, but decided to wait until after GearVR2.rund wrote:Where's the VR Batman Cave? It's supposed to release "this winter" according to this
I hope that's the final delay then. I can't wait to navigate through the scene and test the positional tracking on my DK2, and I'm so bored with looking at all the stereo Quicktime VR panoramas out there.Goldorak wrote:Winter is coming...this April. April is almost over. Shouldn't this much hyped "holographic lightfields" batcave have been released by now?Goldorak wrote:Winter is coming...this April. We are releasing our Gear VR app and Octane VR this month. The Gear VR app will play ORBX content that is published online or saved onto the device, including OctaneVR renders as well as the WB project.rund wrote:April is almost over.
