Paul, any chance you can add either a checkbox in the configuration window or have a python script turn off/on Poser Unimesh skinning method for the _entire_ scene to prevent mesh tearing?

I could do something like this....however, I would rather be able to report the problem to Smith Micro first - and I have not yet received a scene which does this. So if you have a scene which reproduces the mesh tearing problem, cn you pls end it to me?

Thanks

Paul

The tearing comes and goes. I don't know how to reproduce it. But the welding of the body parts with no smoothing I can reproduce all the time. First image is with traditional skinning method. Second with Unimesh.

I mailed you a test scene.

Zay - not sure what you mean by this. How are you welding? Which Smoothing are you turning off?

Thanks

I'm not welding anything. Poser is. But there is no smoothing between the body parts.

I'm not welding anything. Poser is. But there is no smoothing between the seams.
I'm sorry Zay - I am quite confused now. Did the scene you sent me demonstrate that? I opened the scene and rendered the animation and it was fine. But that was a different camera angle to the images you posted above. Did you send me the correct scene?

No need for render the animation. Just move to frame 10 and render that frame. I will post my result here in a minute.

Do you see the problem Paul or is it only me? Well, I know it's not only happening to me as I have seen finished images posted in galleries where the artists haven't noticed this problem either.

Here is Andy. See the seams from the body parts?

Thanks Zay. I have submitted a bug report to Smith Micro on the Traditional Skinning issue. I'm pretty sure that issue and the mesh tearing issue are different - but still worth getting it sorted out.

Thanks
