Ryan - I will see if their proposed solution can be implemented (by splitting meshes). I suspect scene load time will be slower, however I might have an option in the config "Check Clipping Planes" which is off by default to keep things fast. I probably can't look at it until early next week.

I have refreshed the installers at the top of this thread with:

2.21.1.33
- Fixed issue where the LiveDb could not be opened from the Material tab

Also - I have had reports from users that in Rhino5 SR11 pressing ESC when focused in the Material tab causes the material widgets
to disappear, and Rhino needs to be restarted to get them back. This is happening on Rhino materials as well as other renderer materials. So I recommend not updating to SR11 until more is known about this issue.

Thank you Paul, and it's no rush. Your idea about a config option sounds great to keep the scene load time fast.

I'd look forward to this - seems very useful despite if it is slow!

So just to clarify; SR11 fixes the materials & octane tabs teaming up to eat the widgets(see known issues on both rhino threads), however introduces a different issue? #scaredofupdatesnow

SR11 introduced a new issue - so I recommend staying with SR10. McNeel have said the SR11 issue with be fixed in SR12.

The critical issue has been fixed by McNeel in SR11, however there are still some minor UI issues. Whilst should impact you, keep a copy of the SR10 installer handing in the unlikely case you need to roll back.
