Hey!

I've had this problem since yesterday, where I can't use the metaball and get it to show up in either the liveviewer or render. I've attached a screenshot of the file.

What I've tried:
  • Turn on/off "render perfect" on the spheres
  • Turn down the subdivisions on the metaball object
  • Put a octane object tag on the metaball object and the child objects.
  • Turned on check geometries in octane.
Suggestions?

Edit: forgot to post the screenshot. Duh! https://www.dropbox.com/s/mlc6tovm6o6gc ... 7.png?dl=0

I think you need to make the balls editable.

I should probably mention that there's a displacement on the sphere-material as well. Could this cause any problems?

No, why don't you try different setups of metaballs?

Feel like I've tried everything at this point. You mind checking the project file?

Metaball doesn't work if displacement is active as I see from your scene

From what I understood from aoktar, that shouldn't be a problem :/

That is not the problem. The metaball doesn't has UVs so trying to use a material with "UVW Mapping" as projection won't work.
Using displacement on an object without UVs with "UVW Mapping" will result in the object not showing.
Try other method that works for your surface (spherical, cylindrical, planar...)
