I may be completely wrong.
Oh, yes. My "what?!" was of surprise that this actually happened :)

OTOY will be inviting select users to participate in the alpha release of OctaneRender 3 this summer, with a full release slated for the second half of this year.

Hi, Man,

how are You doing? =) lsiten, I'll be straight here as You're probably busy person =)

if I want to buy a #VR what would You recommend? what gives the best value, features, what platform is meant to grow etc..I mean give anything that You see as valueable info to keep in mind if someOne would like to dive into that..

main usage will be architecture..- portability would be nice, though I'm ok to hook on PC rather than mobilt, pluss I'm more of "let's du it brute force" rather then "let's optimise" guy =) - just some guidelines where I'm looking..

OTOY (as Carmac) seems to talk nice 'bout GearVr..curious how they (Oculus) not to push DK"X" further..-is it the technology that stops them..?..

anyway, any thoughs are so much welcome - & hey, don't rush, it's nothing to be decided fast =) so I have time. Some Guidelines would really help though as I'm total newbe in this field =)

Until CV1 is out, GearVR a is the only way to see high quality VR coming out of Octane. DK2 is just not a pleasant experience in comparison. You want the 2x resolution over position tracking.

You will be shocked by how good your renders look in GearVR. Seeing Octane on it is like nothing else in VR - I have to agree with Carmack on this one :)

I mean, if Carmack was jaw dropped (as he described in GTC) ..then I need nothing more to prove that it's worth..& that it looks Really GOOD! - just a bit scary to dive & spend tons for stuff You barely know - so it would be good to know at least some basic recommendations from those who tried or experimenting - for those who are looking (like me), but have no idea about this technology so far..

thanks for all the info! =)

Also looking forward to this.

Goldorak,
Could we assume that PTEX will be available to all plugins as a native Octane feature?

Cheers,
