Hi everybody,
i'm glad to publish the version 2.21.1 which is based on Octane sdk 2.21.1.
This is a test version before releasing and fixing all possible problems.

<< 2.20 RC2 >>
- Multi render mask support(max 8). This is a addition to available feature. Every pass will be generated after main/beauty/info passes. Each mask will takes a few second to finish. Which is depended to info max samples.
- Visual improvements for render info in LV.
- New export commands to save the scene as orbx/ocs with(out) animations. Still is under improvements.
- Some fixes for button issues.
- New render passes and parameters
- Fix for cast illumination in texture emission
- Several minor fixes over last version

- User category is removed. You can manually copy the all orbx files to localdb folder.

- how to get render layer for some objects?
put a octane object tag to desired objects. activate object ID and set layer ID as 2. go to render layer section then activate and select layer id as 2. select some shadow or reflection passes from same section. you'll see some on screen buttons on live viewer to switch between.
also you may need to activate alpha channel on kernels. also may need to set on show alpha command from LV's menus.
colored shadow will works with specular material's fake shadows.

-to get object masks for multiple layerS, check render settings -> render layer masks. no needs to activate render layer for this functionality. plugin will do all operations for that.

Note about "new.c4d" or "default.c4d" usage. If you have this scene as startup which is done by old version. Please create new one with current version to avoid a warning window.


IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTES:
Due to the switch to CUDA 6.5 you will need a current graphics driver of version 344.x or higher. On Mac OSX you will need a CUDA driver of version 6.5 or higher (see http://www.nvidia.com/object/mac-driver-archive.html). The minimum supported version of Mac OS is 10.7.
Also matching version of Standalone 2.21.1 is highly recommended.
And remove all old plugin files before installing. Any version conflict or old drivers can cause crashes

I need to know that plugin version/Os/HW, bugreport zip. Last operations before crashes.

The Camera in Cinema, is not acting like the Camera in the 2.21 Standalone. The 2.21 got "real camera values" for aperture, focal length and so on, which is (finally) a extremely great feature for composers. Why is it not in the cinema version, or do i get something wrong?

Copy/Paste from 2.21 standalone thread:

"Added pins "F-stop", "Sensor width" and "Focal length", which allow you to control FOV and DOF like on a camera."

If your vram buffer can't fit textures they go to your RAM (dependant on several conditions) - pretty cool feature! see here for more info http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=44704

Hello, Aoktar.

I have a problem in new version 2.21.1, that wasn't before in 2.20.0 RC2 in the same scene.
In sequence rendering, after render beauty frame and beauty passes, octane starts to render other passes, including layer mask. And octane can render layer mask forever, without any progress, untill i stop it manually.

thanks. I see same problem here especially with info passes, i'm trying to fix it.

Hi,
I have a problem with performance on the iMac 27, i7 3,5, GeForce 780M 4GB . When I use the "low" priority the whole system lags. When I set to" high " system freeze, without giving me the possibility to click. Earlier versions below 2.20 worked ok and could use OSX for other purposes. I have the latest drivers for CUDA and fresh system install. What could be the problem?

You should be working on scenes which requires high computation on gpu, is it? Are you using "geometry updates" with object tags or is it happening while rendering?
