Am I missing something or can I not save a 32 bit from the IPR window, I didn't see any save formats that were 32bit? If I want aa 32 bit output image do I need to render out using either the "render" or "batch" render option?

cool thanks. I've been using IPR for my renders because I like to be able to see see how the render is progressing. Guess I'll have to make a switch.

yeah, i suppose that makes sense. Is one of these methods of renders faster than the other or should they be the same speedwise?

Oops.
Sorry, I forgot that I've already added this feature some time ago. So, you can force the IPR to render the HDR image (but such an IPR may be some slower): you need to select any HDR format in global render settings before starting IPR session. After that just save the HDR image standard way - "File/Save Image" from IPR window.

oh, ok! thanks!prodviz wrote:The 16 bit formats will save out as 32.
There's a thread somewhere discussing why this is the case. Something to do with Maya if I remember.

I guess i'm doing something wrong, but I just cannot get this to work. I have "tonemapped HDR" turned on in octane. I save as a 16bit tif and when i open in photoshop, it opens as 8 bit. it doesn't even open as a 16 bit file! any clue what i'm doing wrong?
