Well, that's quite evident, not all the regions of an image render at the same Ms/s, low exposed regions will converge slower, when rendering the whole image, the Ms/s is probably an average, if you render a homogeneous high exposed white surface it will be fast, if you render a low exposed corner it will be slow.voon wrote:@Elonius
Appaqrently, with region render you're not suppsoed to look at Ms/s ... the image should still clear up faster than the entire rende, even if Ms/s are reported lower. i can't properly explain it, but that's what was said when region render became available.

Hello!
Is it possible to combine sunlight and environment texture in the plugin as in the stand alone version? Can´t figure it out...
Any chance the plugin manual will be updated with all new features? Or is it me again not finding it? The links I find on Otoys home page takes me to Version 1.20.1 – 1.1 beta (August 2013).
A little wish a bit off topic perhaps... It would be great if Otoy/Octane could put a bit of money/time in to making some good quality video tutorials. Even good written ones would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I get some sort of weird artifacts when trying to live render. When looking through the camera, the texture on the plane gets some circles and from a close up I see the triangulation taking place. Dind't have this issue with previous version.
Hi 00Ghz,
Have you checked the Ray epsilon value? Some times, when it too low (0,000001 for example) these sorts of artifacts might occur. The default value 0,0001 in most cases gives good results.

Ok, that apparently fixed it. Thanks
Hi Marten
1. Even it's the bug it is nothing to do with Octane plugin. It would be better to ask Blender developers about it.
2. I've tryed to reproduce this issue but no luck. I added a plane to a new scene and unwrapped it using the Project from view option. After that in UV window I fit the uv-map to my image (ctrl+p). So far so good. The next step was to rotate the uv-map. And still I didn't have any problems, the plane with the image looked as it should be.
So, you should either tell me what i was doing wrong or send me your scene.
