IPR or F9 render, it sticks on "Updating Scene In GPUs", nothing ever happens. But if i switch to any other kernel option it works swimmingly. Any thoughts?

Which version of Octane & plugin?

I can't reproduce the symptoms here in any of the projects I've loaded.

Using LW 11.6.3 (on Windows 7 x64), Octane 2.06 and plugin v 2.6.4
Asus 780 GTX Direct CU II OC (3Gb), Driver release 347.88
Asus P9X79 Pro, 64Gb DDR3, i7 4930K @ 4.5GHz
Windows 7 x64, Lightwave3D 2015, Octane & LW plugin

Nobody else has reported a problem like this with the last beta releases. What version of the plugin and LW are you using?

If you can reproduce the problem, can you send to me the scene that has this issue?

Are you using a GTX 970 or 980? PMC is not supported on those yet, but will be with the next release.

Curious about these cards comparing render speeds.

Please try the lightwave grass scene with your cards and post the m/s.
I notice a very big issue with maxwell based cards and displacements. The slowdown is more than 10x with scenes that have displacements using maxwell based cards
