Hello,
I recently started to use OctaneRender Plugin 2.6.0.23 with Poser 10
on Windows 7 64bit PC.
I had no problem when I used default Daylight setting.
However, when I did "Create Emitters From Lights" and tried to open a Viewport,
I got following error.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2014\Runtime\Python\addons\OctaneRender for Poser\SetupForm.py", line 610, in EventOpenViewport
File "C:\Program Files\Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2014\Runtime\Python\addons\OctaneRender for Poser\UiManager.py", line 5140, in ShowViewportForm

WindowsError: [Error -529697949] Windows Error 0xE06D7363
Strange thing is the error mentioned nonexistent path
"C:\Program Files\Smith Micro".
My Poser 10 is installed on D drive.
I searched "Smith Micro\Poser Pro 2014" in both OctaneDefaults.py
and Windows registry, but could not find it.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks.
Error at opening a ViewPort, with nonexistent path referred

Hi - can you try the version at http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=42585 pls? Make sure you install the 32 bit version into the Poser 10 runtime. Ignore the folder references - they are the folders the python code was compiled in (ie. my PC), not where it was running.

Hi,
After that, I exited Poser and launched it again, but this time the
error did not occur.
Also, some of my attempts to reproduce the error was not successful.
So, I guess the error occurred by chance as a result of combination
of some operations I had attempted.
However, one thing I wonder is
1. My Poser scene had tree lightings, i.e., Daylight, Light 1, Light 2.
2. But, after "Create Emitters From Lights", I did not see any items
which corresponded "Light 1" and "Light 2" on OctaneRender Setup GUI.
3. According to p.13 of OctanePoser Plugin v1.0 Manual, I expected something
like "emitterProp_Light1" (or 2) in material tab, but they were not there.

Hi - the following screen shows the result of running the Create Emitters from Lights script on the default Andy startup scene. If you are getting a different result - can you post a screenshot pls.
Thanks

The debug log is called 'octaneplugin.log' and it's location is described at http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=42585.

I found that existing lighting was "ignored" for unknown reason (see attached image).
octaneplugin.log is also attached.

Only spot lights and point lights are converted to emitters. IBL lights are ignored (since the IBL texturemap will be in the Octane texture environment), and Infinite lights are ignored, because the first infinite light in the scene translates to the Octane Sun.

Yeah, different from p.13, p.39 states that...
By the way, on Render Options List pane, "environment" can be switched
between "daylight and "texture environment" for which image of IBL can be
specified.
Does it mean daylight (infinite light in Poser scene) and IBL cannot
coexist in OctaneRender?

Octane 2.0 allows an IBL image to be added when using the Daylight environment - so yes, they can co-exist in Octane 2.0.Does it mean daylight (infinite light in Poser scene) and IBL cannot
