Hi everybody,
i'm glad to publish first TEST version which is based on new Octane 2.10. This version contains many new features.
Best one is speed and sampling optimisations for my personal opinion. There is new algoritms which is developed by Octane team. There is some explanation from Marcus (Abstrax):
We also implemented a new path termination strategy, which is a bit tricky to explain: In the past the there was this ominous pin "RR probability" which in most cases only worked good when set to 0. With the new algorithm we try to provide a system where you can tweak render speed vs. convergence (how fast noise vanishes). Increasing the value, will cause he kernels to keep paths shorter and spend less time on dark areas (which means they stay noisy longer) but may increase samples/second a lot. Reducing the value will cause kernels trace longer paths in average and spend more time on dark areas. The current default of 0.3 works good in most scenes, but play with it. For example, in two interior test scenes it actually payed off to set the value to 0.5 - 0.6 which increases the samples/second a lot and then just to render more samples.
The direct lighting and path tracing kernels also have a new option "Coherent mode", which increases the render speed, but causes some "flickering" during the first samples/pixel and should be mainly used for the final rendering and if only if you plan to render 500 samples/pixel or more.
The three changes above together should help you to speed up rendering quite a bit. How much depends on the scene of course.
Detailed info can be found in this link: http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=42564
Second big feature is Render Passes.
This is still not completed and under development. It will be updated soon. So user feedbacks are important currently. In this version, i have integrated some new Render Passes functionality. Currently we are bypassing C4D's Multi-pass interface and will use new gui. There is no need to add Render Passes from render settings. Only you can select the desired passes from Octane Settings. But please don't forget this is uncompleted section. To use or not is under your risk. This version is only a test and previewing release.
Network Rendering
There is a new option in the network settings dialog (enabled by default) which turns on automatic port configuration on the master. If enabled, multiple masters can be used on the same computer which wasn't possible before because only one master could use the specified socket.
A few problem is fixed on rendering in first version of Test1. One was a mistake on "Resend only updated objects" option in rendering. Sorry for this. enjoy

IMPORTANT INSTALL NOTES:
This version requires Nvidia driver 335.xx or newer(Cuda6.0).
Also matching version of Standalone 2.x is highly recommended.
And remove all old plugin files before installing. Any version conflict or old drivers can cause crashes

Bug reports:
I'll be happy, if anyone can be spesific with bug reports.
I need to know that plugin version/Os/HW, bugreport zip. Last operations before crashes.
Thanks for contributions

Hi Ahmed,
Thanks for new UltraFast update
I did quick 20 minutes test with my latest project
and it looks to me like a stable version.
The only thing that didn't work correctly was multi pass layers
in Picture Viewer. Some layers didn't show up in Layers Tab (Picture Viewer)
but I have selected them in Octane Settings.
Thanks !

Just amazing ! sooo fast to update you're great Ahmet, thanks.
thanks centilmens! as krzychuc4d says that I cannot show some layers in picture viewer. this is limited by C4D's current layers. but plugin saves all layers to a multilayered psd or as separated files. this part is not finished yet. second, info layers not shows dof and motion blur. I think that should be fixed.
about stability, it should be fine as 2.06 except layers.
I hope that you may feel differences on rendering

Hi Ahmet,
I´m testing it right now.
It once crashed on me as I tried do a time restriction in the render settings. "Time Limit (sec.)"
Testing the speed improvements right now.
It seems that it takes longer to load the scenes though!
Octane 2.061
500 Max. Samples
Export Time 16 Sec (Till C4D begins rendering)
Octane estimated render time 3:15 Min
Complete Rendertime (Export + Rendering) 3:32
500 Max. Samples
Export Time 20 to 21 Sec (Till C4D begins rendering)
Octane estimated render time 2:40 Min
Complete Rendertime (Export + Rendering) 3:01
The Result looks cleaner plus there is a speed improvement of around 15%
Cheers,
Raphael

Hi Ahmet,
fantastic!
Thanks very much!
One thing I noticed from first tests is, that the
objectID is black/white in PictureViewer, but when I open
the Multipass-File in PSD, the objectID pass is colored like the
material-ID-pass.
I think object ID should be pure black and white.
Btw. anyone knows for what or how to use VertexNormal, UV, GeoNormal and ShadingNormal passes?
thanks
Mike

Raphael,
we have tryed on many scenes. You can see more speed increase. Hard to give exact number. SOmetimes %20 or %100. There is many factors. Path term. tresholds can be give different results on every scene. Also 2.10 does much better job on sampling. You can render with less samples. So anymore maxsamples is not only factor to compare.
Mike,
As i said that i can't change some layer buffers as ObjectID. So this is the main reason to develop new section and system for passes. But you may see correct output in saved images. Octane does colored objectIDs since beginning. Also many renderers does. Anyway we will add user controls to set colors.
