How to project images into space so any object that comes in front of this projector would have some image projected onto it. ( I don't want to use projection nodes since I want to simulate something lika a real world projector)

Possibly use an Octane Light with a texture applied to it to use as your Projector?
Not sure if it'll work, just an idea that popped into my head.

This light then emmits diffuse light so projection is completely blurred. I need a focused projection on a wall.

You can build a scene with an object that works like a real projector: a box with a transparent film on one side and a small light on the other side. With a small light you can get a sharp projection. Test the attached scene to see if this could work for your project.

Thanks man, this is a good solution, I will test how it works in my scene.
I started investigating how real projectors work with a couple of lenses inside but then it got too complicated so I dropped that route.

Please could you share the scene, my projections get out blurry and I have to use PMC with caustics to make it happen.
EDIT: I got it, specular material needs to have fake shadows on !

Is it possible to reproduce this example in LW - the projection of the image through the projecting node?
Example from C4D:

Not yet. There are some limitations on the nodes workflow on the LightWave plugin side that must be fixed to make it possible. I'll try to work on it after the final 4.00 release, in an upcoming build.promity wrote:Is it possible to reproduce this example in LW - the projection of the image through the projecting node?
