I'm getting the attached error when I open the Octane viewport.

I think the problem has something to do with writeprotection - but can I somehow change the path to my C:\ drive?

It's strange as I have used Octane / Sketchup before with no problems.

ps. plugin for 3ds max design does not have this error.

Thanks

Hi Jorgensen,

A bit of background:
Sketchup stores material textures in zip-like files, so there is no way for Octane to access those materials directly.
That's why Octane4SU plugis has to extract them to tmp location. Lack of valid tmp location causes this type of error.

As for the error, where do you have you copy of Sketchup installed (full path)? And what is full path to your user-folder?
I assume you are using either a network drive or some sort of other drive.

Hope to hear from you soon

Fuzzy

hi fuzzybro

sketchup is installed here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SketchUp\SketchUp 2014

user path
\\tmsrv1\users$\brj

i just tried sketchup pro 8 (old installation on the same computer), and it does not have the problem.

i have tried to start sketchup as "run as administrator" but this does not solve the problem.

thanks

could it be possible to expand the textures in a user specific path on c:\? this might speed things up and solve the problem?

Hi Jorgensen,
\\tmsrv1\users$\brj
Is it a network folder?

Missing textures search works that way that it stores last successful path and uses it as one of the search folders till it can no longer find assets.

Anyway, I'll try to reproduce this issue.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks
