Nvidia prices are surely a mess and the new expensive series are absolutely out of range for me, but the 7XX series is a very good one. the 780 costs around 400€ and has quite the double of power of a 580 and for 500€ you can get the 6GB version and both with less power consumption and less noise... not so bad ;)
obviously the GTX 590 will be the best Nvidia GPU in terms of power/cost forever, but i suspect that for Nvidia, it was the more big pricing mistake for them :D

Nice work, Acc24ex.

thing I find a bit distracting (but it might be my screen on MacBookAir).. - that the wood materials for floor & table are a bit of..- seems that gamma is not as it should be.. - personally I believe they are just too saturated, or maybe those mats lack a reflection, as it would wash the saturation..- don't know, but just though of sharing if You'll be looking to improve further =)

hehe, TitanZ is stratospherically priced, but now nVidia try to make more sense selling TZ for boutique PC builders for 2k (rather than 3k), that makes it more or less the same value as Titan, but..tartgeted for those who would like to have mITX based system (as small as possible =)

Nvidias boss already said that it's an expensive, luxurious card, targeted at certain users, it's not meant to be a value option, quite opposite, like a sports car =) & Guess it is.. as competing card prom AMD that output almost the same performance You can get for half (it was 1,5k & now .99k, as AMD's reaction to cut TitanZ's price =)

I know the feeling mate. In Portugal is the same thing.....

Well about the image, it looks great but as Glimpse said the wood looks a bit dark/saturated. A few tweaks and it can be perfect.

Off topic question:

You have a similar setup as mine.
I had 2 gtx590 (4 GPUs), then i decided i to buy 2 more, só now i have 4gtx590. But as i cannot have them all inside the case because MB would melt. I brought some risers, After many many tests i still cannot have as stable sistem..lost of crash...bluescreen...etc.
I then brought a Quadro FX1800 to display....and set the 4gtx590....its 9gpus....and Evga Precision X only allows control of 8gpus...Msi. Afterburner too.

How do you control the fans/temps in your sistem?

If i put all 4gtx 590 director to MB, sistem works (but too much hot), no space to a display card.
In Risers i still can get the 4 gtx to work - waiting on new USB risers to test. it again, they should arribe next week.

The few times i manared to get 9gpus working i cannot control fans/temp with Evga precision or Msi afterburner.

How do you do it?

Cheers and thx

sorry noticed this post only now..
- first of all you really need powered PCI risers - probably wont even recognize the card..

- cooling is not that pretty but is works - keeps around 88 C - I placed to 220V fans around 5 inch pc fan sizes.. right on top of three graphic cards - that are on risers - two are on the motherboard...
- oh, and I don't have a pc case - made like a big drawer which can open from top and front side - so I can access everything - unfortunately I cannot control the temps when I close the PC drawer - and the fans were intended to push and pull air - they are intended for kitchens I think.. loud, but not that much.. and works ..
- I keep the pc on all the time - cause I use it as a sort of file and print server as well, and it freezes maybe once a week, sometimes have to reset it 5 times in a row - but mostly it runs OK - considering I didn' reinstall the system in a few years now - I am happy enough with the stability and performance - with a 2-3 years old system it holds it pretty good

- the thing is - the latest tech didn't get twice as fast in the last 2-3 years - maybe 10% - which you don't even notice - I can see from the disappointing posts where people are pretty surprised with new machines, expecting at least a 100% boost - something shitty is going on in the tech industry
- I can buy for the same price and perfomance new tech and old tech - and if the new one was better I would get it, it is no..

- I don't understand why nobody made an article about it, it is too obvious - the first i7 processors made a revolution, and nothing new happened, slight increase in speed, SSD has a properly good price now, RAM came down with dual channel mainbords only now (don't you remeber motherboards used to have 6 memory slots - like I have still).. monitors.. whatever - that's it, usb 3.0 - I don't need it because I don't use USB stick any more - I upload to google drive whatever is needed..

- nobody needs more power? except a few people actually using computers for more than internet or gaming machines

Hello acc24ex, thanks for the reply.
I got my new USB risers (powered) yesterday but i still didnt test it because im really busy with some projects. Maybe next week i will take a day off and test it.

Your system sounds very stable. ;)
And its similar to mini, i7, Asus mb WS, but i "only" have 16gb ram, can RAM bootneck system when we have 9Gpus running? (1.5gb x 9 = 13.5gb)

A few more questions  :

- Your risers are 16x to 16x, or 16x to 1x?
- Do you monitor gpu fans in Evga Precision or MSI Afterburner? and can you control the Fan Curve to all 9gpus?
- Which drivers are you using? because I think many errors are caused by the driver that stops responding.

My system is this:

When I connected the 4gtx 590 (different risers, powered and non-powered, lots of crashes/freeze)

rendering

then all gtx590 connected to MB, all work great but temps get to high, and MB temp also get very hot. But work great, ultra fast, no freeze, no lag. ALL good

I will try the new USB powered riser next week.

Lets pray... I would love to use my FX Quadro do model and display, and the 8 gpus from the 4 gtx590 only to render...

cheers

actually currently I'm running 12 gb forgot to update sig, the other 12 gb is in another desktop, supposed to be temporary..

- the RAM memory is not the bottleneck, VRAM is not adding together, every gpu uses the same memory copied accross sort off, each gpu renders one part..

- check if you have enough power, that can have an impact of course

- all my risers are the same 16x to 16x, and your setup looks pretty compaerd to mine :)
... - BTW all usb risers are 1x speed - I calculated and with 1.5 gb system the difference in speeds is not that much.. so that should be enough..
- drivers, I don't even know - I think it updates automatically - yes I do sometimes get some driver failures, freezes.. not often enough to do an overhaul..
- temperatures need to be under 90 - it is very easy to overcook them
- I'm monitorin temps via some windows dekstop gadgets, - desktop gadgets are not recommended due to security issues, but I like to live dangerously :)

.. yep, it was quite difficult to fit 5 graphic cards, but it worked out, sometimes it just has some incredible stupid bugs which requires me to detach the first card, restart, then attach it again etc.. you have to learn what your system likes sort of, take a day to just work out the issues.. I know I had one particular setting in bios that would bluescreen me like every 30 sec or every few hours .. c1 execute bit - set to off - I think..

anyway, happy burning, good thing is those gpus heat the room nicely when it gets colder, sometimes I just run a render to heat up the room :)

looke very nice. i like the lightning and the whole scene in general. nothing wrong in my eyes.

as for cards: check the compute performance for the gtx 970. :) for "just" 300 bucks you more or less get a titan (with 4gb), which uses less power and produces less temprature, with plenty of room to overclock on top. i would say it is hard to beat right now. just need to wait for octane driver updates ofc.
