A Poser-only version of HDR Light Studio is not on the cards at the moment, so in the meantime, Lightmap are offering a 30% discount on HDR Light Studio – Complete to OctaneRender for Poser users. If you would like to take up this offer, pls PM me and I will send you the discount coupon. This offer finishes at the end of Sep 2014.
When you have the 'Complete' version, you will need to manually do the final render of the HDR map in HDR Light Studio - however I will amend the plugin so it does this for you and then automatically puts the resulting file in the environment texture.

Quick question tho - will this discount be the equivelant of the special Poser pricing? OR, should I wait and see what they come up with for Poser/Octane users?

I don't know - but my best guess is that the Poser-only version would be the same price as the 30% discount.OR, should I wait and see what they come up with for Poser/Octane users?

I was gonna report that as a bug, but since it is already a known problemWhen you have the 'Complete' version, you will need to manually do the final render of the HDR map in HDR Light Studio

Had it happen to me once that I closed the scene, didn't render the HDRi afterwards and reopened the scene the next day just to find that my whole lighting was gone

The HDR Light Studio light setup/positions/etc are NOT saved in the Poser scene. So when you get the full version - you need to save the HDR Light Studio project (in HDR Light Studio). Then you can reload it if you need to change the HDR Map at later stage.Had it happen to me once that I closed the scene, didn't render the HDRi afterwards and reopened the scene the next day just to find that my whole lighting was gone

Yup, that's how I always solved that so far.
Saving the HDRi-Project in HDRI Studio Pro, then first loading the Poser scene and after that opening the project in HDRI Light Studio Pro afterwards.
Maybe you could include a message that pops up before you close an image lit with HDRI Studio Pro that tells you to save the hdri - otherwise the lighting won't be saved.

The trick is to leave one wall of the room open just as you would on a movie set.
I've been achieving great results with that technique.
Because the concern you're voicing here is justified - if you have a scene with four walls, a roof and a floor, the light from the HDRi won't be getting inside your scene. Only maybe if you have windows.
